Comparison of the in vitro Demodex folliculorum killing activity of azelaic acid and permethrin

Aim: Demodex parasites have been linked to dermatological disorders, especially rosacea, without a proven mechanism. Moreover, some anti-Demodex agents demonstrate dual therapeutic effect related direct on the skin disorder along with decreased number of mites. Despite being considered first-line treatment approach for azelaic acid's efficacy against mites has not investigated. In current study, were continuously observed after exposure test evaluate potential acid. The acid was compared that positive control agent (permethrin).
 Material and Method: wastes diagnostic standardized surface biopsy samples rosacea patients collected trial. To four active groups administered 10% acid, 20% 30% 5% permethrin. addition, there group, 20 included in each five groups. authors conducted real-time observation study through digital microscope. survival times recorded between groups.
 Results: mean time 12.2±1.5 minutes permethrin group. 10%, 20%, 15.8±1.6, 14±1.5, 12±1.2 minutes, respectively. differences did reach statistical significance (p>0.05).
 Discussion: present study’s results revealed all three concentrations had comparable
